CGLI is an Institute with vocational focus ensuring excellent career prospects. The aim of the programme is to respond to worldwide demand for technicians, technologist engineers and managers who have sound knowledge of engineering & communication technology.
The overall aim of the programme is for advancing education of Engineers, Managers, Technologist, Technicians, Craftsmen, skilled workers and semi skilled workers, undergraduates, scientist and applied scientist intending to develop a rich knowledge of Engineering. Not only will you gain the skills and Knowledge base for the pursuit of further studies leading to the academic degree, Technological Diploma, Technician Diploma, Technician Certificate and Engineering service certificate. The programme studies general system behavior as well as techniques for driving the performance of different families of engineering. These ranges from the common engineering – type applications (e.g. Power Systems, Instrumentation and Control, Plant Technology, Telecommunication, Manufacturing and Information Processing)

The Higher Technician Diploma (HTD) and Full Technological Diploma (FTD) are approved by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engineering Council UK, American Society of Certified Engineering Technician (ASCET), Institute of Incorporated Engineers (IIE), Institute of Management and Information Systems (IMIS), Institute of Leadership and Mangement (ILM) are recognised professional bodies and educational requirements for Chartered Engineering registration.
